2 | The Blueprint (2001) | Jay Z | For me a really good hip hop album paints a picture. You can listen to a song and feel like you just experience a moment in time. You don't need me to tell you that
Jay-Z is one of the best. You can spend hours googling what each line means on this album. I strive to sell water to a whale, one day.

3 | Sinner (2001) | Drowning Pool | I have this CD somewhere in a book. It's a shame Dave Williams, the lead singer, passed away soon after this album relased. Most people know the song Bodies.. I like to think the song It's Raing Men by the Weather Girls & DP's Bodies were inspired by the same even but from different perspectives.
(Orig 3 of 22) | NOV.. 2023 |
4 | Stankonia (2000) | Outkast | Back when this album came out, I don't think I fully understood the skits lol. The album art was very different between the dirty and the clean version.
B.O.B has been on a ton of my mixed CDs.

5 | Vs. (1993) | Pearl Jam | Is this album better than ten!?!!??!!?!?! Am I allowed to ask that!?!!?!?!??!!?!?!?
(Orig 5 of 52) | JULY... 2024 |
6 | Big Whiskey & the GrooGrux King (2009) | Dave Matthews Band | I don't follow every move DMB makes, but this album really has a lot to offer. Some people don't like DMB and if you're one of those people, keep in mind this album doesn't have much Kermit the Frog.. if you know, you know.
(Orig 6 of 53) | JULY... 2024 |
7 | Enter the Wu-Tang
(36 Chambers) (1993) | Wu-Tang Clan | Sooo.. I do like this album but i really don't have a huge emotional attachmen to it. In 93 I was five years old.. basically I was watching cartoons.
The first time I really sat down and listned to this whole album, I was in my 30s. If I watched more classic martial arts movies I feel like I would appreciate this album more.
If you never listned the this album before, I reccomend watching Hulu's Wu-Tang: An American Saga series first.

8 | Just As I AM (1971) | Bill Withers | It's Bill Withers.. just listen and you know what that means.
(Orig 5 of 14) | NOV.. 2023 |
9 | Meteora (2003) | Linkin Park | It’s funny how I don’t remember what I did yesterday, but I put this album on, after not listening to it for many years, it brought be back to high school and it’s like I never stopped listening. Thank you Best Buy for allowing me to purchase this. I will admit I pretty much stopped listening to LP after this one. I’m not sure why… It’s not a New Year’s Resolution to go back and listen to other albums, but I will work on catching up.

12 | My Head Is an Animal (2011) | Of Monster and Men | wow.. this album is a tough one for me, because I spent a lot of time listening to it while visiting my cousin in the hospital. There's sone songs that really hit me deep and it's a mixed bag of emaotions when I listen.

14 | Sixteen Stone (1994) | Bush | This was the first album I ever bought. I bought a used CD from some kid at St. Leos summer camp. (I still have the CD)
My cousin (RIP) introduced me to Bush and I really looked up to him. This album reminds me of him.
I decided to start my all time list with this album because it is and always will be my first... and you never forget your first.
(Original rank 1) | NOV.. 2023 |
15 | The Number of the Beast (1982) | Iron Maiden | Iron Maiden is basically a gateway drug into the Heavy Metal genre. If I played guitar I feel like I would have spent hours trying to perfect any and all Iron Maiden riffs.
Listen to this album before you wear that random IM shirt you bought from Hot Topic three years ago.
(Orig 6 of 11) | NOV.. 2023 |
16 | Body Heat (1974) | Quincy Jones | One of my favorite things about listening to albums from the 60s and 70s (really any decade) is you can hear parts of songs you grew up with.
AKA the Sample. 2Pac, Mobb Deep and other artists sampled this album. I call it Reverse Discovery (maybe I just made that up now?) Summary: Quincy Jones is a legend.
(Orig Rank 6 of 10) | NOV.. 2023 |
17 | Frogstump (1995) | Silverchair | 15 years old! The band was 15 years old when they recorded this album..WHAT!? In my teens, my uncle would point out the lyrics from Tomorrow ("You say that money, isn't everything But I'd like to see you live without it") I guess to prove a point like "LISTEN TO THE ADULTS THAT KNOW BETTER" -- wish I knew Silverchair were 15 back then .. sorry I think i just wrote out some PTSD that still lives deep in me. whoops.. on to the next album
(Orig 11 of 23) | DEC.. 2023 |
18 | Soup (1995) | Blind Melon | It’s a shame the mases only know the song No Rain. Blind Melon is one of my favorite bands, so I decided to review the album without the song No Rain. This selfless act was to benefit you and how uncultured you are if you never sat down to listen to a full Blind Melon album. Thank You.

19 | City of Evil (2005) | Avenged Sevenfold | Early A7X is a lot of screaming and if you're into that then start there. I'm not into that (well sometimes). This album has a good mix of everything when it comes to an early 2000's rock band.
(Orig 12 of 30) | FEB.. 2024 |

23 | Blue Chips 7000 (2017) | Action Bronson | Recommend via social media: Am I allowed to admit my first introduction to AB is watching him eat exotic food while using creative expletives to explain how amazing the dining experience is? No? Dang.. well then.. I dig the album. Kevin Hart's arms have forever changed. Social Media came thruough with a goodie.

27 | You've Come a Long Way, Baby (1998) | Fatboy Slim | If you want a reminder of what the late 90's sounded like, here's the album you've been looking for.
(Orig Rank 10 of 16) | NOV.. 2023 |
28 | Significant Other (1999) | Limp Bizkit | I'm not sure why the world turned on LB. All their albums have bangers. When this album came out, every 12 year old was debating what nookie was and then telling their friends where to shove that cookie. Matt Pinfield's rant at the end might have been one of the influences that lead me to a career in broadcast.. maybe.

30 | Hysteria (1987) | Def Leppard | The fun thing about the 80's.. in an attempt to sound futuristic, a lot of these songs sound dated. When it comes to hits this album has a bunch. If you've heard DL on the radio, you've heard most of this album already.
(Original rank 20 of 43) | APR...2024 |
31 | Rubberneck (1994) | Toadies | Defiantly an early-mid 90s sound. It's a shame they are known for that one song.. but they follow me on IG!
If you have 3 minutes, Happyface is a tune.
(Original rank 4 of 5) | DEC.. 2023 |
32 | Passover (2006) | The Black Angels | They sound like the Black Keys with a hint of The Doors + more doom & gloom?? It's a little slower paced, but overall, I like this album.
(Orig Rank 13 of 17) | NOV.. 2023 |
33 | Absolute Zero (2013) | Little Green Cars | I like the harmony. "Harper Lee" and "The John Wayne" are the songs I listen to the most but there are other gems on here too.
(Orig Rank 6 of 8) | DEC.. 2023 |
34 | I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You (1976) | Aretha Franklin | There's nothing I can say about Aretha that you haven't already heard. Everyone knows the song Respect but my favorite song on this album is Save Me. The Sam Cooke fans have something to listen to.
(Orig 22 of 38) | FEB.. 2024 |
35 | Violator (1990) | Depeche Mode | Clean is on the playlist because it starts off sounding like Pink Floyd (prob is.. I didn't look up if they sampled) I wasn't sure where to rank this one, but landing here feels right.
(Orig 34 of 57) | JAN...2025 |
36 | Singles (2014) | Future Islands | The first album recommendation submission since I started doing this: I listened a bunch of times before adding this album to my list. Overall, I like it.. I think?? There isn’t a song that really stands out and I caught myself just listening to this album over and over while doing things around my apartment. I never felt the urge to press skip.. Just let the album play over and over and over. Gives off some War on Drugs vibes.
(Orig Rank 15 of 21) | NOV.. 2023 |
37 | Uprising (1980) | Bob Marley and the Wailers | Could You Be Loved is on this album. It's always been my favorite Bob Marley song. I don't know what instrument is used to make that... well i don't know how to exaplin it. It's like a bird or gorilla humming sound. Either way, If you like BM, you should listen to this full album
(Orig 23 of 37) | FEB.. 2024 |
38 | Eyelid Movies (2010) | Phantogram | There are songs I really, really like and other songs that just exists. If you never listened to Phantogram before, start here and work your way through the rest of their work.
Futuristic Casket reminds me of Brick + Mortar (or maybe vice versa)
(Orig Rank 6 of 7) | DEC.. 2023 |
39 | Icky Thump (2007) | The White Stripes | It's a White Stripes album. You either like em or you don't. This album has a few good songs. Some of the songs are charactery (it's a word.. I googled it) Some songs you might even hear Meg sing in the distance.
(Orig 19 of 24) | JAN.. 2024 |
40 | Enema Of The State (1999) | blink 182 | "I wish my friends were 21" hits different when you're 35. Honestly, I wasn't a huge blink fan growing up. I liked most of the songs that played on the radio, but I was never compelled to listen to a full album. I'm sure I just triggered someone.
(Orig 22 of 27) | JAN.. 2024 |

43 | Chapter 1 & Chapter 2 (2018-19) | girl in red | This Double EP is about a person who knows what they want and they aren't afriad to tell the world, despite having doubts that feelings will be reciprocated.. this makes sense once you press play.
(Orig 17 of 20) | NOV.. 2023 |
44 | Notion EP (2016) | Tash Sultana | Recommend via social media: I never listened to Tash Sultana before. I liked it a bunch. It's only 6 tracks (2 live) so you have time to check out Notion.

46 | Grace (1994) | Jeff Buckley | Brandon Boyd was on a podcast talking about how this album was one of his favorites growing up, so I decided to listen since I like Incubus. Hey, it's not my favorite album but it's cool to hear where Boyd got some of his influence from. There's moments on this album I hear some Radiohead too. **Side note some real artists have given a ton of praise to this album.. so who am I to judge?
(orig 44 of 56) | JAN...2025 |
47 | Tango in the Night (1987) | Fleetwood Mac | Is Little Lies my favorite Fleetwood Mac song? Maybe.. Is it your favorite Fleetwood Mac song? SHOULDN’T IT BE?! I picked Tango in the Night for the playlist tho..
(34 of 44) | APR...2024 |
48 | Tim (1985) | The Replacements | Recommend via social media: There isn't any song that stands out to me on this album. I listened for a few hours and I don't feel the need to skip any songs, so that's a good thing. Just don't listen to this album on the bus or while riding any public transportation if you have a fear of your intrusive thoughts winning.
(Orig 29 of 35) | FEB.. 2024 |
49 | Teens of Denial (2016) | Car Seat Headrest | Recommend via social media: My original thought was The Strokes on melatonin. Then on second listen I thought, "yeah dad get out of my space". On the third listen, I totally agreed friends are better, friends are better with Rugs.. i think that's how it's supposed to go.

50 | Return of the Mack (1996) | Mark Morrison | Mark just wants to spend one night with you and then maybe he'll call you again. That's how I feel about this album. It's fun and I enjoyed the time we spent together, but I don't think we are looking for the same thing long term. Doesn't mean we can't hang out again.

52 | Handwritten (2012) | The Gaslight Anthem | Recommend via social media: Not sure if you know this but every album I listen to I pick one song and add it to a Pandora playlist (get out of here with Spotify.. they don't pay me). I avoid adding the album's biggest hits and add a less popular song from the album I like. Now you're probably asking yourself why is Sandro writing all this nonsense and not giving an opinion on this album.. well that's because I don't really like this band. The album isn't bad.. It's just not for me. I KNOW I KNOW! I'm from New Jersey, I'm supposed to support my people. I guess I can just picture the singer with his girlfriend pressed up against his car, in what he believes is a dark parking lot but the reality of the situation is they are in a well lit Grease Trucks parking lot… sorry all of this could be summed up with "I put '45' on the playlist because if you like this song, you'll probably like the whole album… it's just not my cup of tea."
(29 of 34) | FEB.. 2024 |
53 | Blue (1971) | Joni Mitchell | I saw Joni preform on the Grammys so I decided to dive in.. This album isn't for me. I'm nto saying it's not good (or that it's bad).. I'm just not the person that will sit around and say "yah know what I could go for some Joni Mitchell. Where's that Blue album?" I hope Joni enjoyed Spain.

56 | Phases And Stages (1974) | Willie Nelson | I will be the first to admit I am not the biggest country fan. This album is pretty good. Soft. Catchy. It's a concept about love/heartbreak (shocker!) Play this Saturday morning while you're cleaning up your apartment
(Orig rank 14 of 15) | NOV.. 2023 |
57 | Upstairs At Eric's (1982) | Yaz | Listening to this album now, it reminds me of some current.. Indie Electronic(?) bands (I'm not a genres expert so don't crush me in the comments)
Honestly, I only really like 2-3 songs on this album and I bet you can guess which ones.
